Angling Lessons:

HALF TERM:
Junior Angling Coarse Fishing Lessons
2 hour sessions, all tackle and bait will be supplied. 10am to 12 noon or 12.30pm to 2.30pm £10 per child per session.
February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th (17th will be a mini match with a rod donated by Shakespeare. You must have fished at least one other session in the week to qualify. Book all 5 sessions and pay only £45 (payment must be received at the time of booking to receive this offer))

Thursday afternoon, we have some ‘have a go’ archery sessions £2 for 6 arrows, just come along and join the queue! No min age.

March 31st – An Evening with Mel Clarke, British Paralympian.
Join us for dinner and a fascinating talk by Mel Clarke and Archery Demonstration. If you have ever wanted to know about the life of a Paralympian…….. now is the time to find out. This is a fund raising activity and all profits of the evening will be used to fund Mel through the 2012 games. Booking Essential.
Bluebell Walk – we are planning a Bluebell walk this year though the woodlands at Berrow Farm and then a trip to the top of Berrow Hill an ancient Iron Age Fort. Dates for this will be confirmed once we know when the Bluebells are up so look out for this. Register on our email mailing list and we can keep you up to date.

Fossil/Geopark Trail - 21st April to the 27th May 2012
Find some rocks around the site at Cob House that relate to the local Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark, find out the age of these rocks and write them down on the question sheet. There will be 10 Rocks to find. Please ensure that you fill in your name and address correctly so that we can enter you into the prize draw. Did you know that Martley has one of the oldest recorded Rocks, Pre Cambrian? Look out for details of the new and fascinating site at Martley to be opened shortly. This is the start of our education programme for the Geopark in the Abberley and Malvern Hills.
April 7th – West Midlands Search and Rescue
Join us for our Car Boot today (don’t forget these are held the first Saturday of each month March to December) in aid of WMSR. WMSR will also be demonstrating water rescues and how to stay safe around the water, excellent for all visitors to Cob House!
Thursday 3rd May 2012 – Dawn Chorus Walk
Come along and join the RSPB for a Dawn Chorus walk. We have many, many wonderful birds around Cob House and the fantastic footpaths that run through the land and beyond. We are lucky enough to be able to provide a guided walk and have experts to tell us about the various bird songs. It is an early start and we are meeting at 6am on the patio area of the Café and then back afterwards for a hearty breakfast. Saturday 12th and 26th May 2012 – Four Leaf Clover Trail 10.30am to 12 noon
Have you always wanted to find your own special four leaf clover or two or three or four? My goodness, we all need a little luck in this economic climate! This walk will enable you to do just that and also learn about the flowers that are going to be bursting out in the wildflower meadow and wildlife around. The cost is £3 per adult, Children £1 (children to be accompanied by an adult). Come back into the Teaching Centre and affix some of your best finds onto card as a keepsake of the day.
Saturday 12th and 26th May 2012 – Entomology (Bugs and Beasties) 1.30pm to 3pm
Join Karl for some fun and games finding bugs and beasties. We have an abundance of wildlife here at Cob House (including 5ft Grass Snakes!) and Karl will take you around, showing what is living in our habitat areas, in the water and in the surrounding undergrowth. £2 per person.

This year we are pleased to support Mel Clarke, British Paralympian who is based here at Cob House. We have some events planned to work with Mel before the Olympics (more to be released shortly) and are pleased to offer the following sessions:

Dinosaur Detective Trail - 11th to 24th August 2012
Learn what used to travel over the earth before the humans arrived. We are lucky to have Vernon a Wooden Velociraptor for the duration (not the 18th August as he is at Martley Fete!) This is part of our Earth Heritage Trust education programme. Look out for more details of this coming soon.
Paralympic Archery Trail 25th August 2012 to the 16th September 2012

Toy Library
The mobile Toy library is with us the 4th Thursday of every month. Pop along with the holidays approaching and “borrow” toys to keep the kids entertained.
Fish Farm Tours
If your club would like a tour of our Indoor Hatchery and Fish Farm, please let us know. The Cost is £4 per person and the tour will last approximately 1-1.5 hours. Min group size 5.
Car Boot Sales – First Saturday of each month.
These run from March to December. The cost is £4 per pitch and each month we donate the pitch fees to a nominated charity. The Car Boot opens at 10am, café opens at 7.30am. Please put link here to Car Boot Leaflet
